I love summer, and I love summer fruits- including watermelons, mangoes, papayas, strawberries, and cherries.

My wife and I tried our 1st dragon fruit (pitaya) at a farmers market last weekend. We enjoyed the flavor so much we bought 3 of the pitaya cactus to grow our own crop.

we're definitely a mango family. DELICIOUS! The only downside for me is having to pick the fibers out from between my teeth afterward. Being from Michigan, we're also big on apples. There are some nice orchards close by. My favorites are plain ole Gala. I also like the "Pink Lady" variety. :)

Wow, hard to choose. Pretty much obsessed with organic peaches during farmer's market season. I'll pick up enough every week to have one each morning. But apples are my daily go-to, year-round, especially Fuji. I love canteloupe (muskmelon) & used to call that my fave, but I don't eat it as much as bananas (eat about a half a banana every night). Mmmm, lots of fruit ingested in this household! Because we also grow lots of fruit in the backyard-- apples, pears, plums, figs, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, lemons, and limes. Can't grow melons or peaches here.

Oh, yeah-- and I'm trying to grow pineapple in my living room. Did you know that if you cut off the top of the pineapple, scrape off the fruit, and then plant the top, it will root? Eventually, if the conditions are right, it will grow a pineapple on it!
