Anyone into orchids?

I recently have a lot of free time from work and I would like to use this to improve my garden. I have roses and other blooming plants and I was thinking of adding an orchid, but I don't have any experience with them yet.

Would anyone care to suggest the best one for a beginner like me?

I love orchids as well, I have purchased 2 or 3 different ones, but have not had alot of success with them. From my experience they do not like direct sunlight and there are alot of different varieties out there that have different requirements. I will be following your thread to see what I can learn as well.
