I'm trying to figure out what might have chewed on my tulip leaves and stems. Normally, deer are the big problem for us but my flowers were untouched and that's what the deer usually go for. Does anyone have any ideas for the critter that ate my tulip leaves?

Could it have been a simple slug or snail?

if it's just the stem and leaves it was most likely a pest problem, not an animal

Jersey Girl,
Rabbits are the animals chewing on your tulips. They will eat tender stalks of most plants.
Baby rabbits have the biggest appetites and do alot of damage.

I think Rabbit is the only animal chew your tulip leaves.
Not any other animal do that.

could be rabbits, could be slugs too...but, don't forget squirrels, although they are after the bulbs...they will also eat the foliage

Lots of furry critters can eat your tulips- were there any digging mounds around the flowers? Could be squirrels or chipmunks... Rabbits and deer seem to like to chomp on the entire tulip flower bud.
